A great program and a great time to take advantage of what it has to offer.

The regular season may be over, but football is not. Coach Swanson has the Pioneer off-season strength and conditioning program in full swing. Check the handouts on the Gridiron Site here and here. It’s definitely time to head to the weight room for the “Learning and Technique Phase” of the Pioneer strength and conditioning program.
“Be a better football player today than you were yesterday.”

For those who are interested in purchasing your own new Riddell helmet for a good price ($264.95), please contact Jason Evenhus at jevenhus@riddellsales.com or 503-804-6626. Many of the OC football players have already done so. The helmets remain the property of the player but still can be reconditioned with the rest of the team’s equipment after the season to comply with current guidelines. These are top of the line helmets that can be custom-fitted to your football player for optimal head protection. It is definitely worth considering.

For those parents and football players who were unable to attend our April 2010 Gridiron Club presentation by Dr. Mario Seyer on concussions, please take the time to read through the hand-out that was distributed during the presentation. It can be located here on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention website.
